Hello! Wishing everyone warm salutations in post-Venus&Mercury-retrograde midwinter winds <3 Sending greetings from a new newsletter platform <kalami.substack.com> to share updates on my heartwork, which continues to unfold in layers of peels, petals, skin, screens & hyperlinks…
Last fall in Lenapehoking (NYC), we hosted our first 427 gathering in pandemic times, “FW: We Mist You,” grooved with Dancitecture & whirlwinded a packed Pilipino-American Heritage Month (*ahem FAHM). Read more about our autumn adventures here <3
From October- December, we collaborated across oceans to launch a 7-week learning curriculum for 3 Philippine Bisayan languages, BABA BISAYA. There are currently NO materials for learning Hiligaynon, Waray and (very few) in Sugbuanon, so we are super proud to co-conjure a container for connecting to our cultural roots. Read more about our BABA Bisaya classes here <3
In December, we adventured to Mexico, with family and community, culminating in an amazing Winter Solstice at Diego Pinon’s Butoh Ritual Mexicano 20 year gathering in Michoacán. Read more about our winter whirlwind here <3
After Typhoon Odette passed through central and south Philippines, we co-created Living Document for Typhoon Relief Efforts where folks can support short & long-term grassroots projects for recovery. We know that there will be many more storms in the islands, and that the commitment to reconnect with “home” looks like fighting for climate justice, ecological sustainability & indigenous sovereignty, everywhere.
Throughout these months, we’ve been keeping busy doing bodywork on clients in their homes & in the basement of The Shipibo-Conibo Center. We are currently not taking any new clients, but we are so grateful to offer our healing arts to Lenapehoking community.
Thanks for keeping up with me! Many more soups brewing soon…
